Featured Ingredient - Honey
A Primary Ingredient in Our Bar Soap
The ingredient Honey is a primary ingredient in our Eczema Soap, followed by oatmeal which we discussed in last month’s newsletter. So why did we choose honey as one of the main ingredients in our soap? For many reasons!
Raw honey is often added to skincare products because it offers skin-saving antioxidants and has antibacterial properties. If you have ever done a search for DIY skin treatments you likely come across several that included honey.
These antibacterial properties are great for treating and preventing acne. The antioxidants help slow down aging of the skin and the moisturizing and soothing properties encourage a natural glow to your skin. It also unclogs pores due to its clarifying abilities.
Is Your Honey Dark or Light?
Something to remember the next time you’re buying honey at the store; the darker the honey, the more antioxidants it has.
Honey Has Many Uses for Beauty
Aside from being a great ingredient in our Honey & Oatmeal Soap bars, honey can be used in several other ways when it comes to your beauty regime. Face masks, gentle exfoliant, scar fader, wound healer, spot acne treatment, lip balm, burn relief and so much more.
Do A Patch Test Before Using Honey
We also recommend testing an area of your skin before applying honey all over your face. While it does have excellent beauty benefits, not everyone will have the same experience; different skin types may react negatively.
